The colour for this months scrap challenge is teal. I'm currently using teal in my Blue Ridge Beauty and in my Sweet Dreams quilt so I only had a small amount of scraps to use up.
I'm enjoying making these blocks. Its a simple, relaxing pattern to put together.
I've only got five weeks to go at work. Mentally I feel like I've already left. I'm regularly sleeping 8-9 hours a night now after years of living on 6 hours sleep plus weekend naps. It's so nice not to wake up thinking about work, instead I wake up thinking about retirement, sewing, gardening, travelling etc.

Wishing you a very happy retirement, those last few weeks will surely go by very quickly. Do hope your company gives you a great send off.
It sounds like you are already enjoying retirement. The weight has already lifted.
Beautiful aqua fabrics and blocks.
Hope you enjoy your retirement. Pretty blocks - the little daffodils are very apt for my garden at present as they are starting to open out.
Your countdown is close. I know for you will be deep in fall. What's your first plans for your weeks? The teal will make a beautiful quilt.
Isn't it amazing to be so close to retirement? And right on time too! Spring and SUmmer will be so different for you this year.
That's a really cute block. Looks versatile, too. I like it.
Its from Bonnie Hunters Carolina Chain, nice and simple to sew!
oh yes, its amazing that its finally here, it will be a much more relaxing time this year :)
I'm really looking forward to not having to rush to get ready for work in the mornings, just to get up, go for a walk, take as long as I like over breakfast & a shower, enjoy sitting out on the verandah with a cuppa. Slowing down first and then giving the house a good declutter I think.
thanks Jenny, it's so nice to winding down now at work and the days are passing quickly.
yes, I think now that I've handed back the management duties I was doing last year it feels like I'm finished. It certainly less stressful now that I'm just finalising things.
thanks Maggie, its such a lovely colour to use.
I love the start of spring in the garden. I've just ordered some bulbs to plant for spring as we are going into Autumn here.
HOw fun wish I had time to quilt. Can't wait to see more!
